About the team

Eco-harmony envisions the Harmony BeltGuard for the future of Bangladesh. This vision entails establishing robust natural guard delta systems, reinforced by eco-friendly dikes and continuous local community-engaged mangrove restoration efforts. These efforts aim to fortify coastal defenses and foster thriving biodiversity, safeguarding invaluable ecosystems. Embracing the principles of circular water resilience through sponge land rainwater collection and strategic diversification of water sources, we recognize the potential of Sundarbans as the first implementation site. By focusing on Sundarbans, we aim to bend the critical curve and cultivate a vibrant and resilient Bangladesh where the forces of nature and human progress synergistically coalesce, ensuring a future of prosperity and harmony for all. We are a team with diverse expertise, including environmental technology, water systems and global change, urban planning, ecology, and forest and nature conservation.

Our vision for nature-positive future for Bangladesh

Eco-Harmony envisions a nature-positive future for Bangladesh through a Harmony BeltGuard Bangladesh: Sustaining Nature, Empowering Communities. Our vision is to cultivate a thriving ecosystem where nature and communities coexist harmoniously, guided by four core principles: Protect, Preserve, Prosperity, and Participation. The vision entails establishing robust natural guard delta systems, reinforced by eco-friendly dikes, to fortify coastal defenses and foster thriving biodiversity. Commitment to spearheading ambitious mangrove restoration efforts harnesses local communities' collective wisdom and engagement to safeguard these invaluable ecosystems. Embracing the principles of circular water resilience, innovative solutions such as rainwater collection in vibrant rain gardens and the strategic diversification of water sources are implemented. Through these bold initiatives, a vibrant and resilient Bangladesh is cultivated, where the forces of nature and human progress coalesce synergistically, ensuring a future of prosperity and harmony for all.

Our choices for a specific region

Sundarbans, boasting the world's largest mangrove forest area spanning 140,000 hectares, is nestled on the Bay of Bengal, teeming with diverse flora and fauna. Preserving and effectively managing this natural treasure is paramount, as it is Bangladesh's primary defense against cyclones and rising sea levels. Moreover, it holds immense potential as a biodiversity hotspot and climate adaptive zone, contributing significantly to the local economy and providing opportunities for leisure and recreation. By safeguarding the Sundarbans, we not only protect Bangladesh but also nurture a vital ecosystem essential for both human livelihoods and environmental resilience.
